Bikers get a horrible reputation because of a few. You can't judge a group of people by how some of them act or else we would hate teachers, coaches, police, doctors. All groups have bad examples in them. We hear about the bikers in Portland area or big cities that have a rally and visit the hospitals with stuffed animals for the kids but they also do it in the rural areas. They don't do it to hit the news or to better your opinion, they do it for the kids.
