One of the things I love about rural Oregon is that you can hike alongside the road when you get to be 87 and still see scenery that many places you have to hike miles to see. My mom did not walk far but we had a blast and we saw sand cranes on this day. Any activity is good for someone and it is good to get out of the house even for a drive and short walk. This is off the Cascade highway out of Bend, Oregon
