These Osprey, fish eagles, live just north of Madras at a farmers pond. The pond is stocked with fish, mostly bass and is a favorite place of the eagles. Also a favorite place of my grandsons as we went fishing there when they were small, this is the pond they learned to fish at because you were almost guaranteed to get a fish. The pond is owned by a friend of mine and not open to the public.
Another thing that people don't think about is that central Oregon has Osprey everywhere. They are one of the more common birds. Central Oregon high desert is dry, empty and harsh...no, it is filled with beauty and Osprey can not survive without water to fish in.
