Oregon Forest fires

The sun during the day from all the smoke. Good for photos, terrible for people who have health issues. Usually the dry clean air of Central Oregon is good for breathing problems. This smoke is coming from the Waterfall fire on the Warm Springs Reservation near Mt. Jefferson. They have several lakes and camp grounds closed on and off reservation due to this fire. It is over 8,000 acres and still not under control.

You can see the blue sky on the right of the photo that this is day time.

This is at our airport here in Madras. They have our annual airshow this weekend and hoping that the fire does not make them cancel or cause problems.

A photo of Madras, Oregon in the early morning after the wind blew some of the smoke away but as you can tell it is still really smokey.

This is the sunrise yesterday. Another beautiful photo but I can't help but worry about what this smoke is doing to the people with health issues. It is making for a busy time for the ambulance.

This season has been so dry that the fire danger is extreme. Please be extra careful not to cause any more fires then we have from the lightning.  Protect our beautiful state. I am so glad that this fire is not in a populated area but it is sure causing some financial loss to the tribes from loss of timber and from the logging jobs on hold because of the fire.
